Monaco and the Cote d’Azur epitomise the glamour of a yacht charter. It is a ‘must-do’ itinerary on all yacht enthusiasts lists.
Monaco has long been a favourite haunt of the jet-set, you will always find the harbour filled with super-yachts from all over the world. Monte-Carlo is busy and full, covering just 3sqkm it may appear on first sight that tower blocks are built upon tower blocks, however a little further in and you will find the fabulous belle époque Casino and the ornate Hotel de Paris. Everything here is within walking distance and the streets are some of the safest in the world. With numerous Michelin-starred restaurants, fantastic Spas and shopping boutiques to die for, it makes for an unmissable trip ashore.
Further down the coast, heading towards the Iles d’Hyéres, there are many more high profile spots to pass along the way. Nice, Antibes, Cannes and St Tropez all offer gourmet restaurants, chic boutiques and palm-fringed streets with cafes perfect for people-watching. However, the French Riviera also offers unspoilt beaches, secluded coves, charming towns and picturesque islands that should not be missed.
If you want to take part in water sports, Cavalaire -Sur-Mer is the place to find some (just west of St Tropez). Here you can enjoy canoeing, kayaking, snorkelling, wreck diving and deep sea fishing. It is an ideal family resort with something for everyone.
Finally, the Iles d’Hyeres Archipelago offers secluded beaches and fragrant pine forests. Discover the history of the smallest island, Port-Cros and enjoy a glass of Pastis in one of the local bars.
